What is a good way to dye my dark hair blond?

I have dark brown, nearly black hair and want to be blond, but I’m afraid of bleaching, so how should I go about it?

Hello Donna, To dye dark hair blond, I would first gently bleach the natural color out, using a natural lightening process, and then condition the hair to restore its strength and suppleness - then I would color it to your preferred shade of blond. This should be a gradual process, or the hair will be destroyed. This is not something you should try doing yourself, but should have done in a salon.

I think you should just gradually lighten your hair, a shade or two at a time until you get to the blond shade that you really want. If you bleach your dark hair too much all at once, it will cause a lot of damage to your hair, dry it out, cause it to break off, maybe even fall out. Go slowly!
